The Board of Southern Districts Basketball are pleased to announce the appointment of Hamish Cain to the position of General Manager for the Association.
Hamish has nine years experience at a senior management level in the sport and recreation fields, most recently as the General Manager for Tennis Canterbury (NZ) and General Manager Participation and Facilities for Squash Australia.
SDBAL Chairman, Nigel Stainer said “We received a large number of very qualified applicants but Hamish stood out both in terms of his experience and the personal values he brings to the position. The Board are very confident that Hamish will take Southern Districts to the next level in its development”.
The Board would also like to take this opportunity to thank Chris Angus, our Competitions Manager, who has been overseeing day to day stadium operations since the departure of Acting General Manager, Peter Philip.
It is expected that Hamish will commence duties within the next two weeks. Hamish will be around the stadium to meet all of the valued members of our Basketball community.
