Southern Districts Basketball Association today announces the retirement of the Acting General Manager, Mr Peter Philip. Peter, leaving to pursue other interests within the community where he plays a huge role in supporting many groups.
Peter joined the association as a volunteer three years ago and quickly became the facilitation manager, care taker of the association in numerous roles working with two former General Managers, himself stepping up to take over the position on the retirement of his predecessor.
In this time Peter has been responsible for the success of the QABL men’s and women’s programs along with the junior development.
“The stadium, under Peters guidance has never looked better with other initiatives planned through his efforts” offered SDBAL Chairman, Mr Nigel Stainer when announcing Peters decision to retire. “He will be greatly missed by the board, staff and members”.
It is expected that the new General Manager will be in place by the end of August with Peter remaining as an advisor on all matters until the handover.
